Alucor Contributes to Major Milestone at Rabigh Combined Cycle Power Plant

First Fire of Unit 41

Alucor is proud to announce its contribution to the successful achievement of a key milestone at the Rabigh Combined Cycle Power Plant in Saudi Arabia, a flagship project for Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). The project recently marked the First Fire of Unit 41, a critical step in bringing 1,200 MW of reliable power closer to the national grid in KSA.  Upon completion, the Power Plant will provide electricity to approximately 500,000 homes annually, supporting KSA’s growing energy demand and long-term infrastructure goals.

As the primary construction sub-contractor on site supporting the EPC Contractor, Elsewedy Electric PSP, Alucor’s scope encompasses the full mechanical installation of major systems for the state-of-the-art gas-fired power plant including:

• Assembly & installation of three Siemens SGT6-5000F Gas Turbines along with associated equipment, piping, valves, structural steel, and insulation works.

• Assembly & installation of three Nooter Eriksen Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) along with all associated equipment and piping.

• Assembly & installation of Siemens Steam Turbine, Generator and Condenser along with all other auxiliaries with a rated nominal power output of 400 MW.

• Fabrication, installation, and testing of all Balance of Plant (BOP) piping and installation of BOP equipment.

• Commissioning assistance to support start-up and ensure readiness for operational handover.

This milestone affirms the successful completion and validation of all major equipment and systems for Unit 41, including the Gas Turbine, Generator, Air Intake, Exhaust System, auxiliary utilities, and electrical infrastructure.  Alucor also confirms that Units 42 and 43 are on schedule to be energized over the next few weeks to achieve the plant’s full rated simple cycle output.
